Yakubu Aiyegbeni is a former Nigerian professional footballer, popularly known as “The Yak”. He played as a striker for the Nigerian national team and clubs in Europe like Portsmouth, Middllesbrough, Everton FC, Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers, Reading, among many others. His record as the third highest African goalscorer in the premier league history is there to beat.

Yakubu represented Nigeria at the 2010 FIFA World World Cup in South Africa and the 2000 Summer Olympics. He also played in four different Africa Cup of Nations for the Eagles. One of Yakubu’s worst days as a footballer came in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, when he missed a golden goalscoring opportunity against South Korea.
